HYROX ENGINE SESSION – HOW TO PACE IT LIKE A PRO 🔥
This one isn’t about going full send from round one… it’s about building a relentless engine that holds strong across all 6 rounds.
Here’s how to attack it 👇
1️⃣ Run (1000m) – Set the tone, don’t spike
Think controlled threshold pace. You should feel like you’re working, but never gasping.
👉 Rule: If round 1 feels easy… you nailed it.
2️⃣ Sled Pull (25m) – Smooth, not savage
Stay low, drive through the legs, and keep it continuous.
❌ Don’t sprint and blow up your grip
✅ Think: steady tension, no breaks
3️⃣ Broad Jump Burpees (40m) – Find rhythm early
This is where people redline.
👉 Lock into a repeatable cadence (jump → drop → step up → go)
Consistency > speed
4️⃣ Sandbag Lunges (60m) – Stay unbroken
This is your engine builder.
👉 Breathe through each step
👉 Keep posture tall
If you break here, you pay for it later
5️⃣ Wall Balls (30) – Smart sets win
Unbroken if you can… but only if it’s sustainable.
👉 Option: 15–10–5 with quick breaths
Avoid hitting failure at all costs
6️⃣ Ski (500m) – Reset & flow
Use this as your “active recovery under fatigue”
👉 Long strokes
👉 Strong pull, controlled return
You should come off the ski ready to run again—not destroyed
